There are many options on getting involved with the soap box derby.

Become a Sponsor:

Superior Soap Box Derby holds gravity racing for youth in and around Superior, Arizona . We look forward to an exciting year of racing and forging new friendships, seeing the youth grow and learn new skills, and watching as families bond while enjoying valuable time spent together. We ask that you sponsor the 2nd oldest racing venue in the country by supporting our local soap box derby and joining with us in making a positive difference in the lives of our youth.

Levels of sponsorship are:

Friend of Gravity: $100-$500 ( your name / company name will be printed on our derby races shirts for our May 2006 championship race)

Copper Sponsor: $600 - $1000 ( your name / company name will be printed on our derby races shirts for our May 2006 championship race and announced at each derby event)

Gold Sponsor: $1001 - $10,000+ (your name / company name will be printed on our derby races shirts for our May 2008 championship race, announced at each derby event, if stickers are provided they will be displayed on all cars racing in our championship race and on all championship cars that represent Superior Soap Box Derby at the International Championships in Akron, Ohio in July, 2008)

Individual Car Sponsor: Club cars on available to “loan” to any youth age 8-17, youth must have an adult work with him or her, purchase of required helmet = $15.00, entry fees average $35.00 per race except with multiple races in the same weekend, then average = $25.00 per race. Your logo, name, paint scheme or decals (depending on car class) may be applied to the car.

It is only with the help of organizations like yours that we are able to provide first class events and the “Derby Experience” for our youth and their families. Our events bring a positive happening to the community and it's citizens and add to the economic development of the region. The approximate cost of running a successful program each year is $6000-$10,000. We are able to generate a portion of the amount needed to pay for the transport of the championship cars and drivers to the International Race through assorted fundraising efforts and entry fees, but we need your help to afford other necessities such as licensee and liability insurance fees, cars and replacement parts, equipment, trophies and awards, goodie bags for the entrants, straw bales, food items and paper products for fundraising events and supplies to create and print fliers, programs, advertisements and other forms.

The IRS has determined that we are exempt from federal income tax under section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code as an organization described in section 501(c)(3). Our tax I.D. number 86-0720583.
